TAI discusses green justice in Macedonia

TAI Macedonia a.k.a. the Center for Environmental Democracy held a 2-day workshop for NGOs and officals from the offices of the Ombudsman of Macedonia on 21-22 November in Skopje. Kiril Ristovski, the head of TAI Macedonia emphasized the role of the ombudsmen is securing green justice, while Csaba Kiss, Regional Lead for TAI Europe presented the example of Hungary where between 2008 and 2011 an independent environmental ombudsman operated. Participants agreed that a more intense cooperation between the ombudsman office and the civil sector is needed in order to increase the currently quite low number of environmental cases before the ombudsman.
