A Seat at the Table was distributed to chilean public officials

The new Environment Agency of Chile organized a two-day training workshop for their public servants from all the 15 regions in the country. This workshop was held in Santiago, November 25th and 26th. PARTICIPA was invited to give a one-hour presentation on access rights, their international legal framework and more specifically the difficulties that vulnerable communities face in Chile to have access to information and participation on the projects that are evaluated in the Environmental Impact Assessment System. These public servants are an important target for improving access rights in Chile because they are in charge of organizing the public hearings and delivering information about projects to the public. In this opportunity, PARTICIPA introduced The Access Initiative and distributed CD’s with the Publication “A Seat at the Table”.
