In preparation for its twelfth special session of the Governing Council/ Global Ministerial Environment Forum (GC/GMEF) to be held from 20th to 22nd February 2012 in Nairobi, UNEP is organizing the thirteenth Global Major Groups and Stakeholders Forum (GMGSF-13) from 18th -19th February 2012 in Nairobi.

Annual OGP Conference

At this high-level OGP annual meeting, governments, civil society and the private sector will come together as new OGP participant countries deliver their final OGP action plans and formally endorse the OGP declaration of principles. The event will feature a series of high-level panels, small group sessions and an open government innovation exhibition focused on sharing best practices and continuing to drive innovation around transparency, accountability and citizen engagement in governance. World Congress on Justice, Governance and Law for Environmental Sustainability

This event, organized by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), will seek to contribute to the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD, or Rio+20) process by promoting global consensus among relevant stakeholders such as those engaged in the development of law, Chief Justices and senior judges, Attorneys-General and Public Prosecutors involved in the interpretation and enforcement of law, and Auditors-General whose work will focus on governance and accountability issues on the role of law in promoting the goals of sustainable development.
