To start this public participation case, project researchers interviewed officials at the Management Bureau of Leigongshan National Nature Reserve, villagers from 3 rural townships, CSO’s and media from July 11 to July 17, 2009. Through these interviews we wanted to discover what actions the government took to lead and improve public participation but also the villagers’ views about the officials’ work.

This case is significant in that it would help us find out how government leads and improves public participation in a regulatory framework.
