Public Interest Law Foundation (PILF)
In parallel to a TAI study two poverty pilot studies were also conducted by the PILF.
Report findings were discussed over a tele-conference with WRI and other partners who attended the PI1 meeting in Washington DC in 2007.
Based on these studies PILF has been given a sub-grant in April 2008 to address the most important recommendations. Work is in progress. In the very near future PILF will be taking up these recommendations with the relevant government authorities.
The PILF has also co-ordinated Sri Lanka joining PP10 and Sri Lanka was represented at the last PP10 meeting held in Mexico in 2007 by the Ministry of Urban Development and Sacred Areas Development. PILF is presently working with the said Ministry to set up a National Steering Committee and draw up commitments for PP10 to obtain full PP10 membership.
