The Millennium Development Goals and the United States: A Discussion of the September 2010 MDG Summit During his September 2009 speech before the UN General Assembly, President Barack Obama stated that the MDGs were “America’s Goals”, and that the United States would approach the September 2010 MDG Review Summit “with a global plan to make them a reality.” This event will discuss the progress of the MDGs and suggest ways the U.S. can best promote their achievement.
