The TAI India secretariat is jointly hosted by Legal Initiative for Forest and Environment (LIFE) and Environics Trust. In 2008, LIFE and ET started the Himalayan assessment consisting of the States of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. From 2009, the first National Assessment will commence which will also lead to a the revival and expansion of the TAI National Coalition.
