Chilean NGO’s submitted 3 demands to the chilean government
The NGO’s Terram, Interés Público and PARTICIPA, after analyzing the domestic conditions an opportunities for implementing P10 in the country, submitted to the Minister of the Environment and Foreign Affairs 3 demands.
In Chile there is a new institutional frame for the environment and new institutions have been created, such as the Ministry of the Environment, the Environmental Assessment Agency and the Supervision Agency in charge of monitoring the right implementation of the new regulations.
In this context, new regulations need to be prepared. The 3 submitted demands asked for commitment and proactivity in drafting these new regulations organizing an on-line consultation process that allows different stakeholders and citizens in general to make recommendations to the draft.
These means to organize a participatory process for the drafting of the regulations, before they are revised and approved by the Office of Treasury Inspector General.
