Thailand: environmental and health information must be available to the public

Thailand Environment Institute and its allied organizations succeeded to request the Official Information Commission to use its powers derived from Section 9(8) of the Official Information Act B.E. 2540 (1997) to issue an announcement specifying that information on the environment and health are information that state agencies have to make available to the people so they can look into and monitor.
On June 7, 2010, The Official Information Commission promulgate the announcement of specifying that information on the environment and health are information that must be available for people to monitor, as stipulated in Section 9 (8) of the Official Information Act B.E. 2540 (1997).
