The Inter-ministry Group for Aarhus Convention
The non-governmental organization Florozon and the national coalition “Access Initiative” (TAI) in co-operation with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning “ have formed an inter-ministry group for Aarhus Convention. The convention is an international document with which the public can get access to information, participation in the decision-making process and access to justice regarding environmental matters. It has been ratified by the Parliament of Macedonia in 1999. In 2008 NGO Florozon conducted national research of the institutions directed towards the level and way of conducting the convention. One of the main recommendations from the research was the formation of inter-ministry group in order to improve the implementation. T his group is consisted of representatives of the sectors of the Ministry and it is led by TAI. In the following period a program will be prepared for the future work of this group.
