World Bank Environmental Strategy - Let your voice be heard!

Access Initiative partners and friends, the World Bank is carrying out a broad consultation to define its environmental strategy in 2010. There will be regional consultations and there is a space for public dialogue. Take the time to read the concept note and make some comments.

A paraphrase of the Bank’s request :

In the first phase of preparing the new 2010 Environmental Strategy, The World Bank Group is engaging in global multi-stakeholder consultations to get feedback on the 2010 concept note defining the strategy. In the first phase the Bank will focus on assessing client demand in defining priorities for environmental sustainability. The second track will assess cross cutting priorities through analytical work to position the World Bank on improving delivery of environmental results. In order to achieve its goal of building consensus and ensuring quality of the new Environment Strategy, the World Bank consultations will include stakeholders from different sectors and regions. From January to February of 2010 the World Bank will hold 25 regional consultations, as noted on their website, in which stakeholders can attend in person dialogues. Additionally, everyone is able to make a public comments about the concept strategy online from October 2009 to February 2010.
