Este estudio pretende brindar a profesionales de las leyes, activistas de ONGs, profesionales académicos/ as y de los medios de comunicación social, y funcionarios/as, información internacional y regional sobre el derecho a la información, en un formato relativamente accesible. Se enfoca en la práctica comparativa en términos de la legislación nacional, pero también proporciona información sobre las normas y principios internacionales que fundamentan el derecho a la información. Se espera que esta edición regional, resulte útil como recurso para quienes luchen por promover la aplicación de las mejores prácticas en materia del derecho a la información en América Latina.

UNESCO published a study on access to information in Latin America

This study aims to provide legal professionals, NGO activists, academics, media practitioners and officials with international and regional information about the right to information in a relatively easily accessible format. It focuses on the comparative practice in terms of national legislation, but also provides information on international standards and principles underpinning the right to information. It is hoped that this regional edition will prove to be a useful resource to those struggling to promote best practice approaches to implementing the right to information in Latin America.
