Construyendo una Estrategia de Información Ambiental en Ecuador / Building a Strategy for Environmental Information in Ecuador

El día 28 de mayo, se llevó a cabo en las oficinas del Centro Ecuatoriano de Derecho Ambiental (CEDA) la primera reunión del Comité de Gestión de la Estrategia de Información Ambiental, conformado por: CONESUP, SENPLADES, Ministerio de Ambiente, FLACSO, Ministerio de Coordinación de Patrimonio Natural y Cultural; y, CEDA.

Se presentó formalmente a los miembros del Comité los objetivos, actividades, alcance y metodología para el proceso de desarrollo de la “Estrategia de Información Ambiental en el Ecuador”, con el fin de obtener aportes y comentarios que contribuyan a enriquecerlo.

Con esta iniciativa se busca generar una estrategia de información ambiental, basada en un mapeo general de usuarios, generadores y gestores de información ambiental, así como las necesidades y problemas de los usuarios de esta información.

Los miembros del Comité dieron sus aportes y se continuará trabajando en conjunto para desarrollar este importante proceso incluyendo las necesidades y perspectivas de diversos sectores.

Building a Strategy for Environmental Information in Ecuador

On May 28, took place at the offices of the Centro Ecuatoriano de Derecho Ambiental (CEDA), the first meeting of the Management Committee for the Environmental Information Strategy, comprising: CONESUP (National Council of Higher Education), SENPLADES (National Secretariat of Planning and Development), Ministry of Environment, FLACSO, Coordination Ministry of Natural and Cultural Heritage, and CEDA (Ecuadorean Center of Environmental Law).

It was formally presented to the Committee members the goals, activities, scope and methodology for the development of the “Strategy of Environmental Information in Ecuador “, in order to obtain input and feedback that help to enhance it.

This initiative seeks to generate a strategy for environmental information, based on a general mapping of users, producers and managers of environmental information, as well as the needs and problems of the users of this information.

Committee members gave their input and will continue to work together to develop this important process, including the needs and perspectives of various sectors.
